oh flock, i’m 40.
Actually I’m now 41 and still flocking fabulous. I really do often think that there is no way I’m over 40. I certainly look 40 and act 40, but I can’t really be 40 can I? See, my friends and I are the same people we were in our late twenties and mid-thirties or at least we think we are on those few really special nights a year when we take it to the next level and let our old selves come out for a bit. Yes, we are those same girls in some ways but now we are just really so much more women. Some of us are now exhausted moms of preschoolers and kids in sports that are already giving us eye rolls. Some of us breaking glass ceilings in the workplace, starting and running their own businesses, and are mature and smart enough to know what’s best for their retirement account and what the latest interest rates are. We are trying to get our protein in yet still wanting to find time to make that damn sourdough. Some friends have already dealt with sick or dying parents, have had to meet all new mom friends in their new hometown or have gone through their own unimaginable divorce.
No, we didn’t “change”per say, but the responsibilities and workload never stopped being added to our plate. Those days of being the girls that liked to plan last minute happy hours have been replaced by women who get annoyed if their partner doesn’t update the shared calendar and yet we crave anything sporadic in our routine lives.
So, now instead of bachelorette parties and weddings to look forward to reconnecting, we are counting down the days until our friends’ 40th birthday trip or our high school or college reunion trips. We’re often way too busy juggling all the things to find time to actually plan out the details of the trip and we likely have an opinion on something we want to do but have no interest in getting the pricing, the availability and checking with everyone if they are cool with our plan. We, the 40+ ladies, want to arrive and know we’re going to have fun and really don’t want to waste a single moment of much needed catch up time grocery shopping and planning meals. We just want to eat delicious food from beautiful restaurants and maybe one night we want to stay up late dancing and one night drinking wine on the couch in pajamas. Sonoma is the place for all this and more. Whether you’re the kind of gals that want to wake up and hike or the kind of girls who want to wake up, pop the bubbly and head to a pool party, FLOCK Sonoma is here to plan and execute the details so you just enjoy all those special moments and for once enjoy being the one that doesn’t need to go to the store,we’ll take care of that and much more.
